Fic: ‘He will not run.’
Title: He will not run.
Fandom: Chronicles of Narnia (movie)
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During events in the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe: hiding in the shallow cave.
Summary: The bells come closer.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

I’ve had this in mind for what feels like forever. I had to put it into words.

Their breath hitches and Lucy claps her hands over her mouth. The Beavers look at each other then at each of the three children.

In the crisp air, the silvery music of the bells tingles right above them. Or so it feels and sounds.

Lucy slowly lowers her hands.

The bells stop.

Susan and Peter clasp Lucy in their arms, hugging her tightly. Mr Beaver nods to Mrs Beaver; she cannot hide her worried expression.

They all still and look to the ground above their heads. Mr Beaver takes a deep breath and squares his shoulders.

If she is there, he will meet his fate; he will not run.

This is such a lovely moment!
Thank you! Although, I don't think of this as a lovely moment but my perspective's been feeling skewed since writing Belonging to each other.

I also love how Susan and Peter both hug Lucy tight!
Again, thank you.
