Summary: It’s cold and late.

After writing If you go into the graveyard today, the idea came for this one. The only delay?

Getting caught up in a book!

Pulling her jacket closer around her, she turns into the alley; it’s always been her shortcut home. Strands of blonde hair tickle her cheeks as she walks.

A street light flickers behind her.

“Knew I should’ve left work earlier,” she mutters, her breath hanging before her. She hunches her shoulders against the cold.

A street light flickers before her.

Her pace quickens; it’s darker than usual. She folds her arms, tucking her hands underneath. Just behind, her shadow lengthens. Dust swirls under the newly dead light. Her footsteps echoing in the dark, she glances over her shoulder and begins to run when she sees the second shadow.

The next street light flickers.

Her clothes fall to the ground underneath it as the light dies.
