Fic: ‘His sister’s stew.’
Title: His sister’s stew.
Fandom: Lord of the Rings (movies).
Rating: (G)
Time Period: Before events in Lord of the Rings.
Summary: Éomer tries his sister’s cooking.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

I don’t think Aragorn was the first to smile and nod to Éowyn about her food!

Éomer smiles to calm his sister as he stirs the spoon through the bowl’s contents. It looks, and smells, as a stew should look, and smell.

“Éowyn,” he releases the spoon; it clatters against the side of the wooden bowl, “how am I to eat whilst you are watching? I find my appetite lost with how closely you watch.”

“Please, Éomer,” she asks. “Try it.”

He picks up the spoon again and scoops some of the stew. The spoon in his mouth and he stops himself from choking. He swallows, carefully, and puts the bowl on the table before him. “It’s good,” he coughs.

She smiles, bright and sunny. “Shall I fetch more?”

He inwardly sighs; outwardly, he smiles. “Certainly.”

She skips to the pot over the fire. Once her back is turned, he spits what is left of the stew into the corner of his cloak.

She better be glad she doesn't have my crowd to critique her cooking. I cook very well and they are pretty hard
