Fic: ‘In a darkened room.’  
Title: In a darkened room.
Fandom: Lord of the Rings (movies).
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During events in Lord of the Rings.
Summary: Carefully, Éowyn tends Théodred’s wounds.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

After writing Choking on darkness, this came to mind.

Carefully, she peels the torn fabrics from his skin. His breathing laboured, she whispers encouragement, teasing him to stay in the realm of the living when he is so close to that of the dead.

Dried blood softens as she gently eases the cloth over his wounds; rivulets of newly revived crimson run down his ribs and his fingers slightly twitch. Under the supervision of one with more knowledge of healing than she, crisp bandages are wound around the flesh torn by Orc-blade.

Once he is tended, she rises, gathering her skirts, and departs to see her uncle, the King.
