Fic: ‘Forgotten, and alone.’
Title: Forgotten, and alone.
Fandom: Star Wars
Rating: (G)
Time Period: After RotS.
Summary: It sits in a cupboard, alone.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

Yes, this is the toy mentioned in It won’t be easily lost, No longer lost and Those pitiless eyes.

It kept sitting in the back of my mind and, finally, I had to write this in order to try and purge the image of this toy sitting in the cupboard.

This story comes between It won’t be easily lost and No longer lost.

In a corner, the shaak sits. Stuffing pokes through a burst seam. Loosened stitches slowly unravel. Dust settles over the threadbare patches of its coat, its eyes stare at the closed cupboard door.

Once cuddled, its adventures at an end, the toy sits, waiting for the cupboard door to open and to hear words once excitedly exclaimed: “Let’s both be shaak today!”

Tears had soaked into it and the warmth of childish hands are missed. Excitement and the unknown had once been its playgrounds but the memories fade as has the bright orange and purple of its coat.

But the door opens not at all and a streak of sunlight peeks underneath the door. If that door had opened just at that moment, it might be possible to mistake the sunlit glint of an eye for tears.

Thank you! I feel sorry for this toy when reading this to myself; it's ended up with quite a history!

Stories about old toys always get to me; especially when they're as well done as this one.

Thank you! It'll be worse if I write the story where its put away.
