Fic: ‘Memory and experience.’
Title: Memory and experience.
Fandom: Star Wars
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During tPM: Tatooine, night before the pod-race.
Summary: Qui-Gon makes a decision.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

I’ve been meaning to write a Qui-Gon story for a while but nothing came to mind. Then this did so, words were found. It’s not as long as it could’ve been but I’m finding my feet with Qui-Gon, so this testing of feet into these waters also involves some implied Obi-Wan and Padmé. Well, a friendship between them, anyway.

_______________________

Perhaps, if he had foreseen a growing friendship between them, he might not have accepted the mission to Naboo.

Memory wars with experience. Obi-Wan needs the opportunity to grow, to find his place within the Force; his apprentice also needs to know what it is to be human. To love. To feel pain.

But he cannot ask his apprentice to feel that pain. He simply cannot.

He leans against the wall; it was warm against his back, still holding the heat of the day. Here, the stars feel closer and he sees a star shoot across the sky, its tail blazing for all to see. He smiles at the sight, a faint upward curve of his lips.

He cannot stop the growing friendship. He will not step between it.

He simply hopes that his apprentice can survive if something happens to the fiery Handmaiden.

Wow. Beautiful capturing of Qui-Gon. Been wondering what he would have thought of Obi and Padme if it happened...

This is beautiful. I love how you've written Qui-Gon, I think it's very spot on. He cared a lot for Obi-Wan ♥

Thank you; I was hoping to capture him believably!

He cared a lot for Obi-Wan ♥
Very much so and I was hoping to bring that aspect of him to life. I kept wondering, when writing, what he would've thought of seeing Obi-Wan in Padmé’s bed, so comfortable and at peace. By the end of this story, I came to the conclusion it would've made him happy to see Obi-Wan thus.

I agree 110% :)
And now that has me thinking about what Qui-Gon would've done if alive and Obi-Wan got busted ...

Also, how did I miss that story?? Thank you for linking me! ♥
... you missed it? I had no idea; I'm used to people bookmarking and returning to read stories!

Speaking of missing stories, did you miss the recent story about Lucy and Tumnus? Your comment above got me to wondering about that!

Lovely visual; it's easy to see him standing there with the back-drop of night. :-)

Thank you! It was an image that stuck in my mind for him when I sat to write this; the words for it fell so easily.
