Fic: ‘The Jedi is mine.’
Title: The Jedi is mine.
Fandom: Star Wars
Rating: (G)
Time Period: Between AotC & RotS.
Summary: A confrontation between two unlikely foes.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

This is nothing except an ‘out there’ idea that I’ve put words to in order to no longer have it wandering in the back of my mind (in other words: crack!fic). It was born after catching sight of The Boy Is Mine cover by Amber Riley and Naya Rivera (yep, Glee). The visuals of that pair with this song stayed in mind long afterward.

The title is a play on The Boy Is Mine.

One prowls; the other steps quietly. Afternoon sun glances from the white skin of one; it dances along the water-softened skin of the other.

“He is mine.”

“We disagree.”

Each circled, spiralling closer. “I’ve seen how you look, how you act, with each other. You would have to be blind not to see it.”

“You have him chasing you over the galaxy. It is not difficult to see what knowledge might be gleaned from that.”

The dark Jedi’s hands lower to the dual blades hanging from her belt; behind her back, the other holds a delicate-seeming blaster; the captain of her security had insisted she carry it before she left. “Are you here,” thinly veiled amusement colours each word, “to tell me to stay away?”

“You don’t intend to do so?”

A lazy smile curves the lips of the dark Jedi. She almost purrs from the tension growing between them. “What do you think, Senator?”

She leaps, her lightsabres ignited. The other crouches, aims and fires; the shot is deflected, lazily volleyed at the Senator who tumbles, rolling forward and behind a large cargo container of medical supplies.

“A hunt, Senator?”

Silence is her only reply.

“He is mine, Senator,” she lazily drawls, twirling the lightsabres as she walks amongst the supplies; she’d interrupted the unloading. “Watch him cheerfully chase me around the galaxy.”

The Senator, having picked up a handful of pebbles, throws them away from her; they scatter upon landing. The dark Jedi smiles and silently jumps atop a container. She leaps from one container to the next, landing softly each time. She knows the Senator is behind one of these ...

Abrupt rifle shots disturb the dark Jedi, who hisses in frustration between her teeth and she somersaults from the top of the container she’d just landed on; she’d not wanted to be seen by anyone, except the Senator. She peers around the side of the container and smiles at the Senator, who points her blaster.

“He is mine.” Then, she is gone.

This is one of the most interesting SW stories I've read in a very long time.

Interesting in what way?

In that it's the last thing I would have expected for those characters to have a confrontation like that. Asajj I visualise is cold-hearted; but your portrayal of her here is anything but that.

Ooooh! That's kinda hot! I love it!! Being in a jealousy fight with Asajj Ventress is scary. Lol. But this is great. What a wonderful idea! :D

Thank you! It was an idea that persisted for a while.

A fascinating and unique story. These two fighting (literally) over Obi-Wan is an idea that never occurred to me, but it's so much fun to read.

Thank you. It's an idea that persisted for a while and I was thinking of writing more to do with it, to expand this idea a little further, but I'm not quite sure if I will.

It's good to know that it's an idea people liked reading!
