Fic: ‘In the morning.’
Title: In the morning.
Fandom: Chronicles of Narnia (movie)
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During events in the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe; before they returned to this world.
Summary: Safe and secure with a friend.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

This particular moment popped into mind this morning and stayed. I couldn’t help but write it due to how sweet it seemed, and felt. I might, at some point, write something as to why they’d stayed out in the garden all night. If I get curious enough.

As the first light peeked over the horizon and into the garden, the young Queen stirred, unaware she had fallen asleep; she’d stayed awake far into the night, exchanging stories with her friend.

She turned, snuggling against the Faun who pulled the blanket around her up to her chin. “Your Maj—” He stopped when he saw her raised eyebrow. “Lucy Pevensie,” he began anew. “We have stayed all night. Won’t your family be worried?”

She stretched languidly and grinned. “They know I’m with you,” she replied and tugged the blanket closer. “They won’t be worried.” With a soft yawn, she leaned against him again and closed her eyes, content in the knowledge she was safe and warm.

I really love your Tumnus. The way he always automatically reverts to 'your majesty' or at best 'Lucy Pevensie'

One of these days, he might call her Lucy.

Thank you! After writing Dawn Treader Lucy to get a grasp on her character from that film, this feels a refreshing change.
