Fic: ‘Excitement: 1. Propriety: 0.’
Title: Excitement: 1. Propriety: 0.
Fandom: Star Wars
Rating: (G)
Time Period: Before tPM.
Summary: Obi-Wan tried to be a proper Jedi.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

Seeing the accompanying icon for the first time in a while, I grinned. And couldn’t resist writing this: a moment when Obi-Wan wasn’t a proper Jedi but simply excited and giving voice to it. I figured the knowledge he was to be a padawan might have been one of those occasions when he’d give in to this very simple temptation.

On the cusp of manhood he stood, a lifetime of discipline ingrained in the slight, still body.

Yet, his body quivered expectantly, as though anticipating what it was he wanted to do next after years of waiting.

Restraint warred with boyish instinct, reinforced by a newfound sense of purpose. No, a Jedi didn’t do that, he told himself. They were sedate. Proper in actions and thought.

But, he had been chosen. He was to be ...

Boyish instinct won out.

He clicked his heels together. “Woohoo!” A giddy shout, an arm thrust joyously in the air. Then, he ran before his new Master found him and discovered what he had done!

Thank you; it was a difficult idea to resist after seeing that icon again.
