Fic: ‘A simple joy.’
Title: A simple joy.
Fandom: Chronicles of Narnia (movie)
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During events in the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe.
Summary: They couldn’t help themselves!

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

This is one of a pair of stories written, originally intended for the ‘snow’ prompt in the recent ‘Tis the Season stories. However, only half of the pair fit what I’d had in mind for that particular prompt but, even then, only just and Her first snow fit perfectly what I’d had in mind for the ‘snow’ prompt. So, I’m posting these now!

This is the first of that aforementioned pair. Both these stories were to show the differences of characters at the beginning of Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch & the Wardrobe and after those events.

All characters contained herein are the intellectual property of C. S. Lewis; I am not affiliated with nor endorsed by his estate.

The snowball flew from her hand, hitting Peter in the face. He laughed and scooped up a handful of snow while Susan crouched to do the same. Peter’s snowball went flying toward Lucy; she ducked, giggling and threw another. This time, it was Susan’s shoulder that was hit.

The three spun, flinging snowballs, and laughed. Snow glittered in their hair, caught on clothes ill-suited for winter.

“Peter!” Susan gasped, one of her brother’s snowballs having caught her in the chest and she returned fire, aiming at his head. Lucy ducked and her snowball hit Susan who had seen Lucy’s hand at the last second. The trees around them echoed with their laughter, a sound unheard in those woods for one hundred years.

Unnoticed, Edmund stood to the side, his gaze drawn to the two hills.
