Fic: 'He Didn’t Stay.'
Title: He Didn’t Stay.
Fandom: Torchwood.
Rating: (PG), for themes.
Time Period: Somewhere in distant future.
Summary: He didn’t stay.

Author's Note:
This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition, see the F. A. Q.).

DO NOT READ IF YOU’VE NOT WATCHED TORCHWOOD, SEASON 3 AND INTEND TO; this would contain spoilers for the 4th episode.

This is a request, sent via email. I’ve not watched the current 3rd season of Torchwood which is why it’s set in a distant future; I didn’t desire to interfere with what came immediately before or after. I might write something further when I’ve actually seen the full season; that is undecided until my watching the third season occurs.

Stay with me.
Words that floated through his mind. Stayed there because there was no other place he could be.

Stay with me.
Tears streaked his cheeks. He still remembered those words, those pleas to not leave him.

Stay with me.
But Ianto hadn’t stayed. He’d not been able to ignore the call that beckoned him to the dark, a call Jack had never answered since the Dalek.

Stay with me.
His hand held tightly to the stopwatch in his palm, the metal cutting into the flesh a little deeper each time he held it. Once a year for a thousand years, he held it and remembered that day.

Stay with me.
He wished Ianto had stayed.
