Granville, Granville, Granville …

Granville rubs his hands together, puffing on them a little for warmth; it also helped hide his glee at his idea although the dark did that just as well. At least it was free.

For now.

Leroy stretches as he enters the shop, yawning before straightening his sunglasses; it was important to look cool. Then he pauses, looks around and then looks again after lifting the sunglasses. Where was the old bloke, with his comments?

Then he sees him standing outside, rubbing his hands together over the trees.

The pine trees.

He drops the glasses back on his nose. He didn't want t---

He could pretend he hadn't seen that hand, couldn’t he? After all, it was dark, he was cool and he had to open the store, dammit.

He unlocks the door.

“Right,” Granville begins as he enters, “when it's light, we've got to paint the window.”

“We're going to move those trees, that's why.”

Leroy flips the sign to 'Open', taking a look at the trees. The drooping, losing their green needles trees. “... how?”

“They've got mystical powers.”

“Mystical powers?”

Granville steps behind the counter. “They've gathered the energy of the holiday season and bestow on the homes they're taken into. These ones,” he gestures, “are drooping because they're so full of seasonal energy they can give to those who take them home.”

Leroy lifts the glasses. “After they've bought them.”

“Did you think otherwise, m'lad?”

Leroy reaches for the broom. “Never crossed my mind,” he says.

“Good. Now, tidy up and I'll come up with some way to shift those Santa statues as well.”

Leroy begins to sweep.

For crying out loud... he gives shopkeepers a bad name. Or a good name. Not sure which.

Captured him perfectly.

A name works!

And thank you; it's been awhile since I've seen this show but he reminds me of his uncle.
