What appears to be a twig is held out to the other man. “Are you beginning a garden in your home O'Neill?”
Jack glances over and gestures beside the box. “That's made of plastic, Teal'c. It won't grow if planted.”
The larger man lays the plant on the ground. “What is it, O’Neill?”
“Mistletoe.”
“Why is it in a box?”
“It's a holiday tradition.” He reaches for the twig, holds it above his head. “It's hung from the ceiling and if you're under it with somebody, you kiss them.” He lowers his hand.
“Why?”
“Talk to Daniel,” he replies. “He'll know why.”
“It shall be as you wish.” There's a pause. Jack suppresses the sigh that rises. “Should I now kiss you O'Neill?”
“... why would you?”
“You were under the mistletoe, O'Neill, and you said it was tradition to kiss another if you were under it.”
“No.”
”Are you certain O'Neill?”
“Teal'c, if I were any more certain, I'd sprout wings.”
“Can humans do that, O'Neill? If so, I have not seen it.”
“I'll go ring Daniel and see if he's home .”
