Fic: A choice is made.
Title: A choice is made.
Fandom: Grimm
Rating: (G)
Time Period: Season 4.
Summary: Juliette lets Nick sleep.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

The results of the poll!

I just hope y'all appreciate the sacrifices I make! Chocolate puddings and cakes and macarons. Some smeared with caramels and ganache …

Ahem! Anyway!

I had ideas galore for this, with many characters. However, I settled on this one.

And the chocolate …! It'll haunt my dreams for goodness knows how many nights!

Virginal, fresh from the printer, the recipe sits on the table, enticing and beguiling, fooling the senses with its sweetness and simplicity. The white paper is crisp when picked up.

It hasn’t been picked up since it was put on the bench.

“What,” Nick asks the black man behind him, “is confectioner's sugar?”

“I have no idea,” his partner answers from the fridge.

“And how do you fold something in?” His fingers run through his hair. “Confectioner's sugar and folding. I know how to fold laundry, Does that count?”

By this time, Hank's sitting at the dining table with a glass. “I'd say no.”

“You have a search engine on your phone, right?”

The glass is put down. “You want me to search for what? Confectioner's sugar or folding in baking?”

Nick mutters under his breath. Hank looks up at him. “Don't think I didn't hear that.”

Nick grumbles more quietly under his breath.

“I don't think even Wu heard you that time.”

Nick looks at his partner.

Hank simply raises his glass to Nick, and grins.

“Look, why don't you ask Juliette about this?”

“It's a surprise for Juliette. I can't ask her about it.”

“Then there's only one thing I can suggest.”

It was late when she got home; night was creeping in. She dumps the groceries on the kitchen bench (okay, takeaway) before she looks around. “Nick?”

She lets go of the bags and that's when the dining table caught her eye with its single plate. In the centre?

One chocolate macaron.

And then she sees the trail from the dining table, through to the stairs, up the stairs and along the hall. Each step, she takes a bite; the biscuit crumbles onto her mouth and she has to stop each time as the ganache melts in her mouth.

These are … even her grandmother would call these a sin.

And then eat three more, at least.

She finds him --- eventually --- in the bedroom. On the bed.

Quietly, she sneaks around the bed and sees the white bakery bag they came in.

There's some more.

She takes the bag and sneaks from the room.

*bg* So cute! And I think it's a good idea that in the end the biscuits came from a bakery. *g*

Thank you! I could picture the bakery being a better solution!

Oddly romantic?

Yeah. It's hard to explain; but whilst it's clear it's romantic it's... not what you generally think of when you think 'romance'.

So, not traditionally romantic?
