Fic: ‘Time to get it back.’
Title: Time to get it back.
Fandom: Doctor Who.
Rating: (G)
Time Period: Before The Bells of Saint John.
Summary: Does he need a quiet room?

Author’s Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

It’s been a while since I wrote a story but are we really surprised it’s a Doctor Who story?

Timing-wise, this is during the prequel to The Bells of Saint John.

Maybe he was sad. He was sad and strange --- incredible, not strange --- and too old to sit on swings in parks, talking to little girls he didn’t know.

Something she’d said, though, had struck a note within him. Despite not grieving now (maybe he still was), dressed in his usual clothes, here he was, sitting on a swing in a park, mourning what he’d lost.

Maybe he had lost his mojo.

Maybe …

He sighs, scrubs his face with a hand and stands. He needs to find it again, that’s all. He’d have found her before now if he had his mojo. Maybe he had to find a quiet room and think to find what he’d lost.

It was worth a go.

The swing jolts back and forth, free now, as he walks away.

I like it! Very realistic, and a nice quiet moment to show the effect of young!Clara. :)

Thank you! I wasn't quite sure it'd work.

It seems odd to think of 11 having lost his mojo when apparently 1-4 still had theirs? Excellentlly well written.

Because I look at the old doctors, especially the first four, and they don't seem to have what I think of as 'mojo'.

A child did use the term here, though.
