Fic: ‘A feeling that won’t be ignored.’
Title: A feeling that won’t be ignored.
Fandom: Doctor Who.
Rating: (G)
Time Period: During episode five (5), Pond Life.
Summary: It’s a feeling he can’t ignore.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

After watching episode five (5) of Pond Life, I decided to loop back to the Doctor; it felt fitting after concentrating on Rory and Amy since episode two (2).

All characters contained herein are the intellectual property of the BBC & Steven Moffat; I am not affiliated with nor endorsed by them.

He holds the phone, looking down as he thinks of his message. No, he thinks; something’s wrong. The Ponds have always been home. Unless he happened to pop around when they were at work but it doesn’t feel like that.

Why weren’t they home?

He fetches out his sonic and holds it near the ‘phone’s receiver. He’s just being silly, that’s all. This is the Ponds; the people who waited for each other thousands of years. Amy, who almost fully died for Rory. Rory, who tore apart the universe looking for his wife.

The Ponds. He’s just being silly; he’d popped by, unannounced on a rainy day. They had probably been at work. But ...

Why hadn’t one of them answered the ‘phone? One of them generally did unless they’d been at work.

He checks the setting on the sonic, presses a button and his message is deleted. He frowns, still holding the ‘phone. No, he tells himself; everything’s fine. After all, this is the Ponds. What could go wrong?

Actually, millions of things but he’s not focusing on that. Maybe he should just pop ‘round for a cup of tea and see if everything’s all right. After he’s jiggled the helmic regulator.

“Everything’s fine,” he says aloud. “This is the Ponds we’re talking about.”

This feeling, though, just won’t go away.

Augh, perfect. Exactly what I imagined the Doctor to be thinking through that mini-ep.

I am so ridiculously anxious about the upcoming episode even though I know logically that nothing entirely permanently bad is going to happen to the Pond relationship.

Augh, perfect.
Thank you; I think he's hoping the same as you and I, that nothing entirely permanently bad will happen to them!

Yeaaahhh... I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels there's something wrong there. The Doctor realises it too!

He doesn't know for certain yet ...

Ugh, Eleven, LISTEN TO YOUR INSTINCTS. This is like him walking away from Craig and Sophie's house in Closing Time telling himself that he's not noticing something is wrong. And he does it because he really wants everything to be all right with Amy and Rory, because they're sort of his parents. *sniff*

That's a very apt description!
