Fic: ‘until the day’  
Title: until the day
Fandom: Lord of the Rings (movies).
Rating: (PG)
Time Period: the Two Towers.
Summary: He has his pleasures.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

After writing His precious, Gríma returned.

The reference to the curl comes from His precious.

He slinks back from open doors, staying in shadow until he’s needed. To hear her voice, to even smell her hair when she’s so very near; he watches when she tends the King, so very closely near.

He stays away from Éomer, knowing him to be too watchful, too filled with distrust but the King’s nephew is often away from court, away from him and his love for the sun who shines so closely that he could touch.

No notice is taken of her distaste, of her drawing away when he comes close. Within his heart, he holds to the promise of her being his wife even if, as yet, she knows it not.

Until that day, when the promise is kept, he listens to her sweet voice and cradles the curl he stole in his room, thinking of that day when she will be his.

Wow. It's really good reading this from Grima's point of view and seeing how much he loves or needs Eowyn, even if it's really not right... or creepy how he is thinking of her being his wife as part of his deal with Saruman.
