Fic: ‘A summer dream.’
Title: A summer dream.
Fandom: The Silmarillion
Rating: (G)
Time Period: First Age: after the Dagor Bragollach.
Summary: He sees her dancing upon the grass.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

As with Lost under the stars, I can see this vividly as though it were a scene from a film and the below could possibly fit into the movieverse.

This accompanies Lost under the stars.

Within the woods, he stumbles, grey and worn. He has not disturbed the song woven amongst the trees; stars glimmer above, silent witnesses to his wearied steps. He slumps against the nearest tree, sliding to the ground; the smooth bark troubles him not. His shoulders fall, weighed by his travels, and his gaze is not upon the rising moon but are about to close.

The silvery light of moon and star bathe the clearing; the trees are not so close. The stream burbles. All accompany the melody woven into the coming night. Eyes about to fall are caught upon the maid whose feet lightly fall upon the evergreen grass.

He leans against the tree behind, unable to look away from the vision of gold and blue, of twilight and shadow. Of stars and flowers, of mist and sky, his thought wanders. His shoulders straighten; his eyes widen, fully awake, and look not elsewhere. A scented breeze, warm and sweet, brushes his hair and she is gone. He staggers to his feet, his hand outstretched.

Her name unknown, his heart speaks but one word.

Tinúviel.
