Fic: ‘Taken, and given.’
Title: Taken, and given.
Fandom: Star Wars
Rating: (G)
Time Period: Between AotC & RotS: Jabiim.
Summary: Kenobi’s taken the most valuable possession she had.

Author's Note: This is quick ‘n’ dirty (for definition see the F. A. Q.).

Writing for Asajj, even briefly (Unwilling guests & unwelcome news and ... no fruit?), made me realise one thing: I’ve missed her. I’ve written her in the past and I’ve missed her.

This was a brief excursion, to flex certain character muscles.

Standing on the platform, she schools her expression into outward calm; inside, her stomach churns, her heart pounds. He has taken what is not his. He has taken what keeps her quietly connected to what is good, what control she maintains. However, she recognises the gift he has given her with the theft: focus.

She will not rest until it is returned. Failing its return, she will not rest until Kenobi is dead.

The feeling of moisture upon her cheek is unexpected but she cannot fight its presence; she does not want to. Abruptly, she turns, back to the now departed fanblade; by now, she supposes, it is in the atmosphere.

The corner of her lip twitches. Changing direction, she stalks toward the communications room and, with a negligent gesture, switches on the holocamera.

She knows who to call. He will not make it back to Republic controlled space alive.

A tearful Asajj is scary?

"He will not make it back to Republic controlled space alive."

Yes, she's scary.

She's simply judged on her actions and not beyond. She's a misunderstood teddy bear.

Maybe so; but it's her actions I find scary. Misunderstood? Maybe. But not a teddy bear!

I maintain my position.
