“Gus, around the puddle!”

“What’re you goin’ on about Shawn?”

“Go around the puddle, Gus! Around the puddle!”

Gus stared. Suspiciously.

“Now isn’t the time for trust issues to start comin’ out! Just go around the puddle!”

“Now is the perfect time, Shawn!” Gus folded his arms. “I’m not risking two hundred dollar shoes, or my suit, just because you say to go around a puddle! I’ll just end up in the one next to it! Or lose my shoes in the mud!”

Shawn paid instant attention. “Yes chief?”

Oh that's just glorious. You've captured both Shawn and Gus perfectly - right down to the trust issues stemming back from, invariably, when they were eight!
